Terms of Service
Terms of use for the Northfolio platform.
1. Contracting party
The contracting party for the use of Northfolio is Sascha Klement, Am Bahnhof 44, 21218 Seevetal OT Emmelndorf, Germany (sole proprietor).
2. Subject
Northfolio is an information platform that enables users to record, visualize and evaluate financial products, balances and savings plans. Northfolio does not provide a bank or broker connection; all financial data is provided by users manually or via imports (e.g. screenshot, CSV). Use takes place within the scope of the available functions and in accordance with the respective current state of development.
3. Development and availability
Northfolio is under continuous development. Features may be changed, restricted or removed. There is no entitlement to the unrestricted or permanent availability of individual features.
4. Registration and requirements
Use requires a user account. Registration takes place via email and password or via the supported providers Google (“Sign in with Google”) or Apple (“Sign in with Apple”).
Users must be at least 16 years old; for minors, the consent of the legal representative is required. The data provided during registration must be correct and current. Each user may only maintain their own account and is responsible for keeping their login details confidential.
5. User obligations
Users are obliged to keep their login details confidential, not to share their account with third parties, and to use Northfolio only within the scope of these terms and applicable law. Users are responsible for the accuracy of the data they enter or import.
6. Permitted use and abuse
Use must not cause damage, disruption or impairment to the platform, other users or third parties. In particular, it is prohibited to use the platform for unlawful purposes, to circumvent security measures, to retrieve data automatically (scraping) or to otherwise misuse the platform.
7. AI analyses
Northfolio uses AI-supported methods to analyze uploaded screenshots and to support imports. These analyses may contain errors and do not constitute financial, investment, tax or legal advice. Users must verify the results themselves before using them.
8. No financial, investment or tax advice
The content, evaluations, AI notes and forecasts provided via Northfolio do not constitute an investment or tax recommendation. They serve exclusively for general information and self-analysis.
9. Personal responsibility
Users make investment decisions entirely on their own responsibility. Before every investment decision, information should be obtained independently and, where necessary, independent professional advice (e.g. from financial or tax advisors) should be sought.
10. No warranty for accuracy and completeness
Despite careful compilation, Northfolio assumes no warranty for the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of the provided content, data, prices, evaluations and forecasts. Use is at your own responsibility.
11. Availability
The app is operated with the aim of high availability. However, there is no entitlement to continuous, uninterrupted availability. Maintenance work, disruptions and restrictions of third parties may lead to temporary interruptions.
12. Account suspension in case of abuse
Northfolio reserves the right to temporarily or permanently suspend accounts in the event of abuse, illegal conduct or violations of these terms of use.
13. Termination and account deletion
Users can delete their account at any time in the app. On deletion, the associated data will be removed promptly, unless legal retention obligations conflict with this. The right to suspend accounts for good cause remains unaffected.
14. Intellectual property
The Northfolio brand, the application and the content created by the operator are protected by German copyright and industrial property rights. Users retain the rights to the data they provide. By using the service, users grant the operator the rights necessary to process the data within the framework of the agreed functions.
15. Liability
The operator is liable in accordance with statutory provisions for intent and gross negligence. For slight negligence, the operator is liable only for breach of essential contractual obligations (cardinal obligations) and only up to the amount of the typically foreseeable damage. The above limitation of liability does not apply to damages arising from injury to life, body or health, or to cases of mandatory statutory liability. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected. There is no liability for the correctness of AI analyses, market data or third-party services insofar as this is legally permissible.
16. Changes to the conditions
These conditions may be adjusted insofar as this is reasonable for use. Users will be informed accordingly about material changes. If a user does not object, the changed conditions shall be deemed accepted; otherwise the account can be deleted at any time.
17. Applicable law
German law applies, insofar as mandatory consumer protection provisions do not conflict with this.
